Gullane

Gullane No. 2 was laid out in 1898 by Willie Park Jr, twice an Open Champion and by then one of the game's leading course architects, reportedly for a fee of ten guineas. It shares its opening holes with the neighbouring No. 1 course before breaking away and running down towards the Aberlady Bay nature reserve, one of the most scenic stretches of links golf on this part of the East Lothian coast. Named simply for being the second course built at Gullane, No. 2 is a championship-standard links in its own right, having hosted national amateur championships and Open Championship Final Qualifying alongside its more famous neighbours.
