What we store ourselves

A single entry in your browser's local storage, legs-open-cookie-consent, records whether you've accepted or declined the cookie banner, so you're not asked again on your next visit. This is local storage rather than a cookie, it never leaves your browser, and we don't read, log, or transmit it anywhere.

Instagram embeds

Some Live Blog posts feature an embedded Instagram post. When one appears, Instagram's own embed script (embed.js) loads directly from instagram.com to display it, and Instagram may set its own cookies as part of that -- the same as embedding a post from Instagram on any other website. This is Instagram's system, not ours; we don't control it and don't receive any data from it. It currently loads whenever a post like this appears, regardless of your cookie banner choice.

Admin sign-in

If you sign in to manage this site's content, the content management system sets a secure, essential cookie to keep you signed in. This only applies to site administrators and is never set for ordinary visitors browsing the public site.

What we don't use

No analytics, no advertising or retargeting cookies, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.

Your choices

You can decline non-essential storage in the cookie banner, or clear your browser's cookies and local storage at any time through your browser's own settings. Nothing here is used for advertising or profiling, so declining doesn't change how the site works for you.
