Dalmahoy

Dalmahoy's East Course was designed by James Braid and opened in 1927 on rolling parkland with views towards the Pentland Hills, on the estate of the former country house that now anchors the resort. Renovated in 2005, it can stretch to over 7,000 yards from the championship tees, and its size and demanding par have earned it the nickname "The Beast" among members. Its biggest moment in the spotlight came in October 1992, when it hosted the Solheim Cup — the first ever played on European soil — with the home side winning 11½–6½. The East Course has since gone on to host the Scottish PGA Championship and the Scottish Seniors Open.
