The Old Course at Trump International Golf Links opened in July 2012 on the Menie Estate, a three-mile stretch of Aberdeenshire coastline where architect Martin Hawtree routed the course through dune formations reaching up to 100 feet — among the largest and most dramatic natural dunes used for golf anywhere in Britain. Development of the site, first purchased in 2006, was one of the most closely watched (and locally contested) golf projects in recent Scottish history before the course finally opened. At 7,428 yards from the championship tees, it's one of the longest courses in the country.
